Meet the Crew

Certified Landscape Technician

The CLT test is a proficiency exam for people working in the landscape field. The pass rate for first time applicants is a scant 15%. A person who passes this difficult, two day long, mostly "hands-on" test is qualified to act as a foreman in most companies.
Kate Anchordoguy Landscaping, Inc. is extremely proud to have not one, but two Certified Landscape Technicians on staff.

Mike Mike Squire has worked for Kate Anchordoguy Landscaping, Inc. since 1994, and became a CLT in 1999. The training enables Mike to work closely with Kate on the design specifications for each of her landscaping projects, and qualifies him to perform the duties of Foreman. Mike serves as a judge at CLT tests on a regular basis in order to maintain his certification and keep in touch with the latest developments in the industry.

As the foreman, Mike works directly with the crew, freeing up Kate to meet with prospective clients, and to design and bid the jobs. In addition, Mike is responsible for procuring materials, ensuring that the right tools are on site when needed, and answering client questions when Kate is unavailable. Mike has begun taking classes in landscape design at SRJC, which will qualify him to increasingly participate more in the creative aspects of the business.

Mike Joe Schriner has been with Kate Anchordoguy Landscaping, Inc. since May 2001. After 2 years of study, he reached a major goal of passing the CLT-E exam in July 2006. Joe has worked on over 100 projects with this crew. In March of 2007 Joe passed the certification to become a “Qualified Water Efficient Landscaper” (administered by the Sonoma County Water Agency). Joe studies landscape design at SRJC and got his contractor’s license in 2008.
